On Thursday night I’d gone to sleep at 1930 or something (planning to wake up later that night) and not woken up til about 0900 the next morning.
I was doing some tumble-drying when TJ called and said about going to Ueno, so I met him at the station and we went to Ueno park, the oldest park in Tokyo (or maybe the whole country, I don’t know). Scholars maintain its name comes from the latin, ‘great panda snout’.

It was only a quick walk-around sort of thing, since he had to go in a half hour and I’ll be coming here again when Paul gets out here on Tuesday. But still, it was really nice.

The ‘grand fountain’:

When TJ had left, I went to get ramen. I pointed at this sweet pork thing, but I think they harassed me into getting a meal deal where I just got a seaweed ramen, fried rice and some pickled things. Not as great without the pork, tbh.
This is Ueno anyways…

…and this is the ‘Panda Bridge Entrance’…

I wonder why it’s called that.
Later I went to Shibuya, the place with the massive traffic-light crossing, to try and find a hotel and meet people for a night out. But I think after Fuji everyone was too tired.
I got the most awesome hotel room, right in Shibuya station. It cost more than three times the amount I’d budgeted for but it had a bath, air conditioning, an actual bed and a buffet breakfast.

I’m pretty sure I deserved it after Fuji anyways.
So yeah, I fell asleep at about 2330 and the rest, my friends, is another (totally boring) story…
